Our Vision
E3C envisions a future in which early childhood is a healthy, joyful, and flourishing time—a time when all young children thrive, along with their families, educators, and all those working across child- and family-serving systems. Achieving this future demands early childhood systems that promote equity and excellence, as well as thriving communities that co-create effective public policies and services.
Our Mission
UC Berkeley E3C advances equity, excellence, and expanded opportunity in early childhood by strengthening and transforming the ecosystems that support children ages 0 to 8, their families, educators, and all those working across child- and family-serving systems to ensure their well-being. As an interdisciplinary public impact alliance for teaching, research and development, leadership, practice, and policy, E3C works to understand, improve, and transform California’s outcomes in early learning, health, development, and well-being. We aim to prepare young children for the world they will inherit and inspire systems change that extends far beyond the state.
